Fiona initially joined SOGH as a volunteer in 2019 and later became a board member and blogger of SOGH. She is holding a master’s degree in Global Health from the Karolinska Institutet, and a Medical Degree from the Medical University of Innsbruck, Austria. Currently, she is pursuing her clinical specialist training in general practice focussing on primary health care and disease prevention. She developed her great passion for global public health during clinical trainings in different countries around the globe and is passionate about fighting global health disparities through her clinical work and as a researcher. Her main area of interest is infectious disease control and the social patterning of diseases with a special focus on tuberculosis.
Fiona is keen to explore and develop her creative writing skills to promote our projects, raise awareness and bring global health knowledge to the people by integrating her clinical and public health experience. She is especially interested in writing popular science and hoping to make public health research more accessible for the general public through the PopSci Corner.
