What is required for all positions?

All positions are volunteer-based and require participating to board meetings twice a month. The amount of hours dedicated to the position varies depending on the position, specific tasks and/or period of the year. However, all managers are expected to take full responsibility for their role and complete their tasks. Nevertheless, flexibility is at the core of our team, so we always support each other when needed.

Vice-director

Who are we looking for?

A person based in Stockholm who has leadership skills, is confident in taking responsibilities and making decisions, and is very good in time and tasks management. Previous experience in working with non-profit organizations is a plus, but not a requirement, as well as knowledge in planetary health topics.


The position’s responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • working closely with the director
  • responding to inquiries via email
  • developing a long-term strategy
  • supervising and supporting all the other managers
  • organizing team meetings
External Relations Manager

Who are we looking for?

A person who will join our current External Relations Manager, Irene, sharing the work required for this position.  

This person should be based in Stockholm or close proximity (e.g. Uppsala), be very creative, have very good public engagement and communications skills, and like to engage with other organizations. Previous experience in communications, organizing events and/or public relations are a plus, but not a requirement, as well as knowledge in planetary and global health topics.


The position’s responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • managing current partnerships
  • actively participating at meetings within SOGH’s networks
  • planning and organizing few events throughout the year
  • representing SOGH during events or meetings
  • collaborating closely with fundraising and communications managers
Communications Managers

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking for two people as Communications Managers, to share the work required for this position.  

These individuals should be very creative, have very good public engagement and time management skills, and enjoy using social media with an ethical and critical eye. Previous experience in communications is a plus, but not a requirement, as well as knowledge in planetary and global health topics. Being based in Stockholm or close proximity (e.g. Uppsala) would be preferable but not necessary.


The position’s responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • managing SOGH social media accounts (e.i. making regular posts and updates, sharing pictures, etc.)
  • responding to inquiries on social media/email
  • making promotional/informative/educational posters
  • making videos related to projects and events 
  • helping with our blog
  • collaborating closely with external relations managers, website manager and bloggers
Volunteers and Interns Manager

Who are we looking for?

A person preferably based in Stockholm who is very social and engaging, has leadership skills and good multi-tasking abilities. Previous experience in team management and/or communications are a plus, but not a requirement, as well as knowledge in planetary and global health topics.


The position’s responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • recruiting volunteers who can help with short-term tasks, such as organizing an event
  • assigning volunteers/interns to a certain task/manager
  • co-supervising interns
  • collaborating closely with all managers
