Research and Grants Manager
Valentina is currently a Scientist and Project Manager for Pre-Clinical and Immunology at CEPI (Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations) in Oslo, Norway. After her master’s studies in Medical Biotechnology in Milan, Italy, she moved to Leiden, The Netherlands, to work for Crucell (now Johnson&Johnson) and then to Gothenburg, Sweden for a PhD in Immunology, from which she graduated in 2018. In the last seven years, she has been working in both pharmaceutical companies and academia laboratories as a researcher in the vaccinology field, mostly dealing with Ebola and Influenza vaccines and recombinant viral vectors. In 2017, she has been enrolled in the distance learning MSc program in Global Health Policy with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. During her studies, she gained an interest in public health in the field of infectious diseases prevention and control, and she is motivated to use her knowledge and skills to improve the global health of communicable diseases. Valentina joined the SOGH team as Research and Grants Manager in 2018 and she believes that this involvement will improve her experience and collaborations with non-governmental/international organizations.
