Sicily Mburu

Evaluation Coordinator of Mama & Family Project

Sicily is currently enrolled in the Master in Public health (Epidemiology track) at Karolinska Institutet and her interests are in the field of public health research and health promotion. She comes from a medical background with some experience related to adolescent (youth) sexual and reproductive health interventions and HIV&AIDS. Her goal is to work to improve sexual and reproductive health for adolescents, young people, and women, particularly those in low and middle-income settings. Empowering youth through information sharing has been profoundly motivating in her previous work. She joined SOGH because of its actions in empowering women and health workers, and reducing maternal and child deaths in southeast Uganda. As the Evaluation Coordinator of the Mama & Family Project, she aims to provide technical and research support to strengthen this global health initiative. She says: “this is a great opportunity to work with the SOGH team to make a difference”.
