Mama & Family Project Manager
Laura is a research assistant in healthcare quality assurance at the public health institute IQTIG in Berlin, Germany. She holds a Master’s degree in Biomedicine from Karolinska Institutet and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from University of Technology Dresden (Germany). Before relocating to Berlin, Laura worked at Karolinska Institutet as a research assistant in clinical epidemiology focusing on maternal and neonatal outcomes in pregnancies of mothers with autoimmune deficiencies. Ever since completing a summer internship in malaria research during her Bachelor studies, she realized she wanted to explore other global health fields. During the course of Laura’s studies as Karolinska Institutet, she got the chance to work on her first research project in the field of sexual and reproductive health. This experience developed her desire to contribute to the work of NGOs focusing on improving maternal and newborn care in low-income settings. Therefore, Laura joined the SOGH team and became the Mama & Family Project Manager in September 2017.
