What is required for all positions?

All positions are volunteer-based and require participating to board meetings twice a month. The amount of hours dedicated to the position varies depending on the position, specific tasks and/or period of the year. However, all managers are expected to take full responsibility for their role and complete their tasks. Nevertheless, flexibility is at the core of our team, so we always support each other when needed.

Finance Manager

Who are we looking for?

A person based in Stockholm who has an active personal number, is well organized, trustworthy and accountable, and puts security at the top of her/his priorities. Previous experience or studies in finance is a plus, but not a requirement, as well as knowledge in global health topics.


The position’s responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • managing internal finance, including payments and bank transactions
  • keeping detailed records of incomes and expenses
  • estimating project’s budget with responsible project manager(s)
  • managing tax agency (skatteverket) related tasks
  • collaborating closely with projects managers, fundraising and grants managers
  • reporting to the director and vice-director on regular bases
Website Manager

Who are we looking for?

A person who is very creative, has good knowledge of computational systems and communications skills, and likes the idea of working on website development. Previous experience in communications and/or website management are a plus, but not a requirement, as well as knowledge in global health topics.


The position’s responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • improving the website structure and layout, which will reflect current SOGH’s activities and aims
  • keeping the website updated 
  • curating our website blog
  • collaborating closely with the communications team
Environmental Sustainability Manager

Who are we looking for?

A person who is passionate about the environment and sees it as part of the Planetary Health approach, likes to think out of the box and challenge the system, and likes to engage with the entire team and other organizations. Previous experience in sustainability, social and environmental, as well as environmental justice are a plus, but not a requirement, as well as knowledge in global health topics.


The position’s responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • developing a strategic plan that allows SOGH to become more environmentally sustainable in all its activities 
  • working closely with external relations, fundraising and communications managers to improve the communication around environmental sustainability in connection with social justice
  • collaborating routinely with the Decolonizing Minds Coordinator
Menstrual Health Project Manager

Ekibadha: Our Periods Matter was born as a complementary project of the Mama & Family Project, focusing on menstrual health rights and education. However, since the pandemic has started progress has been difficult, so the project is now aiming to find a new development within the great purpose of making menstruation a pivotal health topic.

Who are we looking for?

A person preferably based in Stockholm who will join Anubhuti, the current manager, in rethinking and reshaping the project. The candidate should be well organized and confident in taking responsibilities and making decisions, have leadership skills and studies/studied public health or related topics. Previous experience in field work, related to public health studies, is a plus, but not a requirement.


The position’s responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • rethinking the project’s location and reshaping plans
  • developing an annual strategic plan for the project
  • budgeting the annual costs for the project
  • keeping routley contacts with project’s partners
  • writing updates and reports on the project to inform funders and the public
  • working closely with grants manager(s) and projects development team
Tanden Frisk Project Managers

Tanden Frisk is a dental health project within SOGH that addresses the knowledge gap in oral health caused by socioeconomic factors. Tanden Frisk works to diminish inequality regarding oral health and dental caries frequency. This is done mainly through oral health education among vulnerable groups in Sweden.

Who are we looking for?

Currently we are looking for two people, preferably based in Stockholm, but other Swedish cities could work as well. Candidates should be well organized and confident in taking responsibilities and making decisions, have leadership skills and studies/studied dentistry, public health or related topics. Previous experience in field work, related to prevention, is a plus, but not a requirement.


The position’s responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • developing an annual strategic plan for the project
  • budgeting the annual costs for the program 
  • establishing, and keeping routley, contacts with partner schools or other local partners 
  • developing an evaluation of the project 
  • writing updates and reports on the project to inform funders and the public
  • working closely with projects development team and communication team
Volunteers & Interns Manager

Who are we looking for?

A person preferably based in Stockholm who is very social and engaging, has leadership skills and good multi-tasking abilities. Previous experience in team management and/or communications are a plus, but not a requirement, as well as knowledge in planetary and global health topics.


The position’s responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • recruiting volunteers who can help with short-term tasks, such as organizing an event
  • assigning volunteers/interns to a certain task/manager
  • co-supervising interns, if required
  • collaborating closely with all managers
