What is required for all position?

All positions are volunteer-based and require participating to board meetings twice a month. The amount of hours dedicated to the position varies depending on the position, specific tasks and/or period of the year. However, all managers are expected to take full responsibility for their role and complete their tasks. Nevertheless, flexibility is at the core of our team, so we always support each other when needed.

Research & Grants Manager

Who are we looking for?

A person who will replace Valentina, one of our Research & Grants Managers, joining Abigail, the other manager for this position.

This person should be well organized, trustworthy and accountable. She/he likes team-work and thinks outside the box, finding new ways of financial support and making the organization’s applications stand out. Previous experience or studies related to finance or economics is a plus, but not a requirement, as well as experience with scientific grant applications. However, good proficiency in English, spoken and written, is a must.


The position’s responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • finding and applying for specific grants to support single projects
  • finding and applying for small travel grants and financial support for single events
  • working with the director and vice-director on a long-term strategy to support the organization as a whole and improve SOGH financial sustainability 
  • researching new ways to finance the organization 
  • collaborating with the finance and fundraising manager
External Relations Manager

Who are we looking for?

A person who will join our current External Relations Manager, Irene, sharing the work required for this position.  

This person should be based in Stockholm or close proximity (e.g. Uppsala), be very creative, have very good public engagement and communications skills, and like to engage with other organizations. Previous experience in communications, organizing events and/or public relations are a plus, but not a requirement, as well as knowledge in global health topics.


The position’s responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • managing current partnerships
  • actively participating at meetings within SOGH’s networks
  • planning and organizing few events throughout the year
  • representing SOGH during events or meetings
  • collaborating closely with fundraising and communications managers
Communications Manager

Who are we looking for?

A person who will join our current Communications Manager, Matthew, sharing the work required for this position.  

This person should be very creative, have very good public engagement and time management skills, and enjoy using social media with an ethical and critical eye. Previous experience in communications is a plus, but not a requirement, as well as knowledge in global health topics. Being based in Stockholm or close proximity(e.g. Uppsala) would be preferable but not necessary.


The position’s responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • managing SOGH social media accounts (e.i. making regular posts and updates, sharing pictures, etc.)
  • responding to inquiries on social media/email
  • making promotional/informative/educational posters
  • making videos related to projects and events 
  • curating our website blog
  • collaborating closely with external relations managers and Girls’ Globe blogger
Website Manager

Who are we looking for?

A person who is very creative, has good knowledge of computational systems and communications skills, and likes the idea of working on website development. Previous experience in communications and/or website management are a plus, but not a requirement, as well as knowledge in global health topics.


The position’s responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • improving the website structure and layout, which will reflect current SOGH’s activities and aims
  • keeping the website updated 
  • curating our website blog
  • collaborating closely with the communications team
Blogger

Who are we looking for?

A person who is very creative, has very good writing, and possibly media, skills, and enjoys talking about global and planetary health topics to engage and inform people, always with an ethical and critical eye. Previous experience in communications and/or blog writing/v-blog are a plus, but not a requirement, as well as knowledge in global health topics. However, good proficiency in English, spoken and written, is a must.


The position’s responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • writing/creating blogs/v-blogs for SOGH website rountenly 
  • writing blogs for Girls’ Globe platform around once a month 
  • collaborating closely with the communications team
