Aya El Hajj
Aya is currently studying Swedish and preparing to get her license to practice as a dentist in Sweden. She holds a master´s in Health Sciences from the University of Lucerne in Switzerland and a Dental Degree from the Dental Medicine School Lebanese University in Lebanon. She worked as a Dentist and Research Assistant in an oral health project on oral health status of older people in rural areas. In 2018, she received a training in clinical research methods at the Summer Institute in Clinical Dental Research at the University of Washington.
She is interested in health literacy, health services research, the provision and access to health care services and she wants to raise people´s general and oral health awareness and literacy and empower individuals to change or improve their health conditions. She wants to use her experience to make a difference in global health and to learn new skills working with SOGH´s team. Joining SOGH as a communications manager, she´s keen on tackling health literacy through creating content, engagement and effectively communicate SOGH projects.
